"Whenever an animal is forced into the service of men, everyone of us must be concerned for any suffering it bears on that account. No one of us may permit any preventable pain to be inflicted, even though he would be interfering in something that does no concern him. No one may shut his eyes and think the pain, which is therefore not visible to him is non-existent." Dr. Albert Schweitzer

Rascal was siezed and arrived at Safe Haven January 2009.
Rebel was seized and arrived at Safe Haven January 2009
Teddy came from the Canton area in the later part of April. He is approximately 25 years old and loves to be groomed. We are currently working on getting a lot of weight on him and he is looking forward to getting his teeth fixed. He is a talker. When we go to feed him or just walk by he just talks away. A very sweet boy. We are hoping he will become available for adoption within the next couple of months. Since these photos were taken we are already seeing some improvement. Please see 'Before and After' page to see his transformation!
Rascal and Rebel were brought to Safe Haven Equine Rescue and Retirement in January 2009 after being seized by Gregg County. They are both severly underweight and were in grave need of medical attention. It will be several months before they show signs of recovery, but they will eventually be brought back to full health and with your help can find the loving home they both deserve.
