"Whenever an animal is forced into the service of men, everyone of us must be concerned for any suffering it bears on that account.  No one of us may permit any preventable pain to be inflicted, even though he would be interfering in something that does no concern him.  No one may shut his eyes and think the pain, which is therefore not visible to him is non-existent."  Dr. Albert Schweitzer

Rebel Before

Rebel was rescued in January, 2009. Rebel is in his mid twenties and will make someone a great companion and could possibly be used as a kid's horse.   Rebel is a little stand offish, but when you watch him trot he has a wonder gate.  He has had his teeth floated and is ready for adoption.
The Largest Rescue
In May of 2009, Safe Haven Rescue was called to rescue 23 horses in the Hallsville area.  Many people volunteered their time, vehicles and trailers to save these horses spirits.  Still today, Safe Haven is continuing to try to adopt these horses out.  We have two horses with babies, two horses that are pregnant, quit a few studs and a lot of young horses.  Sometimes the age of a horse can cause problems, when they are too young or if they are too old.  These horses have recovered nicely and are available to see for adoption.  Please call our office and we would love to show you the beautiful horses we have today.
